Dear Chamber Members,
The chamber’s Board of Directors has made the decision (due to rising COVID-19 cases) to postpone our annual January banquet. We will wait and set the new date based on the health and safety recommendations of local officials, although late spring is likely. During this event, we do plan to recognize our outgoing board members and name the Duke Energy Award winner; all January tickets will be honored at this spring banquet.
With the many unexpected interruptions in 2020, our current board chair Mr. Matt McCrorey, Vice President of Spratt Savings Bank, has graciously agreed to serve another term as chair. Mr. McCrorey’s 2021 Board of Directors includes:
Kira Levister, Treasurer. Richburg Branch Manager—Founders Federal Credit Union
Lisa Burrell, 2022 Chair Elect. HR Specialist—Specialty Polymers INC.
Valencia Bolden, Human Resources Manager—Roseburg Forest Products
Roy Brunson, IT Specialist—Chester County Natural Gas Authority
Autumn Castles, Access Services Manager, TruVista Communications
Shelly Copeland, Career Development Facilitator—Chester County School District
Buddy Grant, President & Owner—Ace Screen Printing & Embroidery, INC.
Mark McAteer, Plant Manager—GAF
Susan Mooring, Owner—Kona Ice of Lancaster & Chester
Shelley Price, Executive Director—GRASP (Great Falls Referral & Assistance Service Project)
As we wrap up this unpredictable year, we are crossing our fingers and making plans for 2021. The Small Business Development Center is virtually bringing back the popular “5 for $55” entrepreneur series in February (in partnership with York Technical College). We are also rolling out an additional round of marketing grants for our members—stay tuned for details. Our annual Chamber Clay Shoot is scheduled for April 22 at Rocky Creek Sporting Clays, and the Chamber Classic is October 14. Winters Law Firm has agreed to host another year of HR Cafés; email us topic suggestions. Postponed in 2020, we hope to begin the LEAD Chester County program (Leading through Education, Action, & Dedication) next fall. LEAD Chester County is a nine-month course offered through York Technical College for anyone who wants to improve his/her leadership skills while learning more about the workings of Chester County (government, education, business & industry, healthcare, history, agriculture, tourism, etc.).
From all of us at the Chester County Chamber of Commerce, we wish you and your business a prosperous New Year and look forward to serving you in 2021.
Brooke Clinton, President
Chester County Chamber of Commerce
