Dear Business Partner/College Representative:
The Chester County School District is excited to announce our Annual Career Expo. The purpose of the Career Expo is to showcase the career and college options that are available to local high school graduates. The Expo will take place on November 1, 2019, and thanks to The Chester County Economic Development (CCED) the Expo will again be held at the recently renovated & enlarged Gateway Conference Center in Richburg. Students from all three of the district’s high schools will attend the Expo, and attend two interactive sessions where they will receive college & financial aid information from the York Technical College Chester Campus, & also enjoy a Career Readiness Fashion presentation from Fashion Stylist/Blogger, Anne Coleman of www.resetshopsc.com. Approximately 275 Chester County seniors will be graduating May 30, 2020. These seniors will be looking for employment opportunities and/or seeking to further their education. The Career Expo is free & it is not a job fair. Rather, we need our business leaders in attendance to be positive role models for students, and help them build awareness and relationships within the surrounding business community.
We would like to invite you to attend this event. Not only will the students learn more about the many careers in their own backyards, but after the students depart there will be time for the businesses to network & find out what is in their own backyards. A box lunch will be provided during the networking time after the students depart for you to enjoy.
The mission of the Chester County School District, in partnership with the community, is to develop productive citizens prepared for the changing world by providing challenging, lifelong learning opportunities in a safe, healthy and positive environment. With your assistance, the Career Expo will be another opportunity to fulfill this mission for our students. Your business will be provided a space which includes a table and two (or more) chairs, and/or an outdoor space if needed. Please feel free to bring displays, brochures, props, equipment, and tools that you use in your line of work, as well as any hands-on demonstrations that you may have for students to see.
Schools will rotate through the Expo based on the following schedule and will be required to visit a certain number of outdoor, as well as indoor, displays:
· Great Falls High, Lewisville High, & Chester County Adult Education – 9:15 am – 10:30 am
· Chester High School - 10:45 am – 12:00 pm
· Networking & Box Lunch for Businesses – 12:15 – 1:30pm
Please arrive early enough to set up your table/area before students arrive – by 9:00 am. The business networking & lunch will be served after the last student groups depart.
Please return the attached registration form as soon as possible and no later than October 28, 2019. This will help ensure the correct head count for lunch. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. My contact information is below. Thank you again for supporting the students of Chester County!
